Every single day this week I have awoken and gone to sleep to the sound and vision of grey. Deep, dark, damp, slow-moving, foggy grey. With my heart and mind heavy, and with Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings on my mind, I built a little world for myself inside the petals of these five roses. I have been happy there.
